How to use Shoppable Lookbook & Image Hotspots

Install the plugin, tag products on your photos, publish with a shortcode or block, then buy Pro through Freemius and activate your license key in WordPress.

WordPress 5.0+ Free + Pro Freemius licensing

Install & activate

  1. From WordPress.org (recommended for Free)

In wp-admin go to Plugins → Add New, search for Shoppable Lookbook & Image Hotspots, then Install and Activate.

  2. From a ZIP

Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the Free or Pro ZIP, Install, then Activate.

  3. Open Lookbook

A new Lookbook menu appears in the admin sidebar. Open Image Hotspots to manage lookbooks.

WooCommerce is only required for product markers. Custom-link markers work without it.

Create a lookbook

  1. Add New

Go to Lookbook → Image Hotspots and click Add New.

  2. Upload a photo

Choose an image from the Media Library. This is the canvas visitors will shop from.

  3. Name it

Give the lookbook a clear title so you can find it later in the list and in block pickers.

  4. Save

Use Save in the editor. The shortcode appears at the top of the settings panel.

Markers & products

Click anywhere on the photo to place a marker, then drag it into position.

  • Product markers — search WooCommerce products and link them. Optionally show price and an AJAX Add to cart button.
  • Custom link markers — set a title, image, price text and any URL (affiliate pages, collections, external shops).
  • Style — marker colour / icon, box style, open on click or hover, and animation (pulse on Free; beat / bounce on Pro).

Markers are keyboard-focusable and expose accessible labels. Press Escape to close an open marker box.

Publish on a page

  • Shortcode — copy [shoppablelookbook id="123"] from the editor into any page or classic editor.
  • Gutenberg — insert the lookbook block and pick a lookbook in the sidebar.
  • Elementor — use the lookbook widget.
  • WPBakery / Fusion Builder — native elements ship with Pro.

Pro features

After a valid Pro license is active on the site, these unlock:

  • Product List — shoppable list or carousel of every tagged product
  • Shop the Look — add all in-stock products to the cart in one click
  • Quick View — product modal with variations without leaving the page
  • Galleries — multi-image carousel, grid, masonry or flipbook
  • Analytics — impressions, opens, clicks, add-to-carts and funnel
  • Product page cross-sell — related lookbooks on the WooCommerce product page
  • Advanced styling — custom markers, Tag/Bottom boxes, bottom sheet on mobile, more animations / triggers
  • Export / Import — move lookbooks between sites as JSON

Buy Pro — Freemius checkout

You can purchase from the website or from inside WordPress. Both use Freemius checkout.

Option A — From the website

  1. Open pricing

Go to the pricing section on this site.

  2. Choose a plan
  3. Complete checkout

Pay with card or PayPal. Use an email you can access — your license key is sent there.

  4. Check your inbox

After payment succeeds, open the Freemius purchase / license email.

Option B — From wp-admin

  1. Open upgrade

Go to Lookbook → Upgrade / Pricing (or the upgrade link shown on locked Pro controls).

  2. Pick a plan & pay

Complete checkout in the Freemius overlay or hosted page.

  3. Auto-activate

When checkout finishes on the same site, Freemius usually activates the license automatically — Pro features unlock right away.

14-day money-back guarantee. Prices are in USD. Choose yearly or lifetime at checkout where offered.

After a successful checkout

The plugin uses Freemius Checkout. For WordPress plugins, Freemius issues a license key immediately after payment so you can unlock Pro right away.

What you receive

  • A confirmation screen in Freemius Checkout when payment succeeds.
  • An email with your license key, receipt / invoice link, and access to the Freemius customer portal.
  • If you bought from inside the same site’s wp-admin, Freemius typically activates the license on that site automatically.

What to do next

  1. Bought inside wp-admin on this site?

You’re usually done. Refresh Lookbook screens — Pro modules (Quick View, Product List, galleries, analytics) should unlock.

  2. Bought on the website (or for another site)?

Install the Free plugin on the target site (WordPress.org is fine), then go to Lookbook → AccountActivate License and paste the key. See Activate license.

  3. Need Pro on more sites?

Single = 1 site, Plus = up to 5, Unlimited = unlimited. Activate the same license on each site up to your plan’s seat limit.

Activate your license key

  1. Install the plugin

Free from WordPress.org is fine — the same plugin unlocks Pro when licensed (or install the Pro ZIP from Freemius).

  2. Open Account

In wp-admin go to Lookbook → Account.

  3. Activate License

Click Activate License and paste the key from your Freemius purchase email.

  4. Confirm Pro is active

Pro controls in the hotspot editor and Pro screens (Analytics, Galleries) become available.

One license can only be active on as many sites as your plan allows (1 / 5 / unlimited). To move a seat, deactivate on the old site first (Account → Deactivate), then activate on the new one.

Manage account, billing & updates

  • Lookbook → Account — license status, activate / deactivate, Freemius profile.
  • Update payment method, download invoices, or cancel renewal from the Freemius customer portal linked in your purchase email / Account screen.
  • Plugin updates — Free updates via WordPress.org; Pro updates are delivered through the Freemius SDK inside WordPress once the license is active.

Troubleshooting

I paid but still see Free / locked Pro controls

Open Lookbook → Account and activate the license key from your email. If you checked out inside wp-admin on this same site, refresh the page. Confirm you are logged in as an Administrator.

I did not receive the license email

Check spam/junk. Search for “Freemius” or “Shoppable Lookbook”. You can also recover the license from the Freemius customer portal using the email used at checkout.

“License activation failed” / site limit reached

Your plan’s site quota is full. Deactivate the license on an unused site from that site’s Account screen, or upgrade to Plus / Unlimited.

Markers don’t open on the front end

Confirm the lookbook shortcode/block is on a published page, the image loads, and nothing is stripping scripts. Try a default theme briefly to rule out CSS conflicts.

Where is my data stored?

Lookbooks live in your WordPress database. Nothing is sent to Freemius unless you opt in to usage tracking or purchase / activate a Pro license. See the plugin readme External services section.
